How it works
One host. One client. A key in between.
Nothing about your screen, your sound, your chat or your keystrokes ever passes through this server. It only ever brokers the introduction.

Go online
The host opens AsaanChat and clicks "Start hosting". The control system hands back a 9-digit key (and, if required, a one-time PIN).

Share the key
The host reads the key out, or copies it, to whoever needs to connect. The client types it into their own AsaanChat window.

Confirm the connection
The host sees exactly who is asking to connect and must explicitly allow it — with an option to skip this prompt for that device from now on.

Talk directly
A direct, encrypted WebRTC link opens between the two machines: picture, system sound, chat, and remote control if granted — all peer-to-peer.

System sound included
Windows and Linux capture your speaker output directly (loopback audio) so the other side hears everything you hear, not just your microphone.
Built-in chat
A persistent text chat runs alongside the screen share the whole time, with typing indicators, so you never need a second app.
Optional remote control
Hand over your keyboard and mouse when you actually need hands-on help — the client drives your cursor and types on your machine, only while you allow it.
You approve every connection
Every new device must be confirmed on the host's screen before anything starts sharing — name, platform and IP included.
"Don't ask me again"
Tick one box during approval and that device connects instantly next time. Undo it anytime from the app or the control panel.
Instant kill switch
Ctrl+Alt+Shift+X takes control back immediately; Ctrl+Alt+Shift+E ends the session outright — no menus, no waiting.
9-digit keys, not accounts
Hosting needs no sign-up. Keys are single-use per online session and are retired the moment the host goes offline.

Remote control enabled
Hosts can still switch it off individually even when this is enabled.
Trusted devices may skip confirmation
Controlled per-host by "Don't ask me again".
Chat archiving off
Chat is peer-to-peer only unless an admin turns this on.
Direct connections. Once two AsaanChat apps agree to connect, video, audio, chat and input travel over a direct WebRTC link between them. This server only relays the initial handshake.
No surprise control. Remote keyboard/mouse access is off by default for every new connection and must be switched on explicitly by the host, per session.
A visible kill switch. The host can revoke control or end the session instantly with a keyboard shortcut, even mid-session, without touching the mouse.
Reversible trust. "Don't ask me again" is per-device and can be undone at any time, either in the desktop app or from the control panel.
